HV Authorising Engineer (AE) services are specialist compliance and safety-management services for high-voltage electrical systems, commonly used in sectors such as healthcare, utilities, data centres, manufacturing, defence, and large commercial estates.
An HV Authorising Engineer is typically an independent senior electrical engineer appointed to oversee safe systems of work, governance, and competency for HV operations in line with:
- Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
- HTM 06-03 (healthcare HV guidance)
- JSP 375 (MOD environments)
- BS 7671 and HV operational procedures
